I recently received an order for a Tiger Maple Smoother from The Renaissance Woodworker, Shannon Rogers. Shannon also is the man behind The Hand Tool School, an online, subscription based source of a wealth of hand tool knowledge and instruction. He and I had talked on a few previous occasions about developing some sort of partnership in which Hand Tool School members could receive discounts on my planes. We decided that this was a good opportunity to pursue that goal, so I went ahead and sent him three other planes to evaluate and review. You may have seen the video he posted of unpacking the box after he got it.
Yesterday, Shannon posted his video review of my planes on his blog. I’ve got to say, I was thrilled with how much he loved using them! So much so, that he even bought the White Oak Jack plane I sent. Can’t ask for a better review than a repeat customer.
With four planes to talk about, the video exceeds the 20 minute mark, but if you are at all interested in how my planes perform, I encourage you to watch it. To say it makes me proud would be an understatement.
By the way, if you aren’t a member of the Hand Tool School yet, it really is a great resource. The latest hand sawing diagnostics from semester 3 just may be worth the entire cost of the semester by themselves! Click through here for more info about the school.
