Two spots available in the April Three Plane Class! Join me in beautiful Asheville, NC for a week of plane making next month!

Join me in beautiful Asheville, NC for a week of plane making next month! I still have two spots open in the class. Over the course of the week, you will craft a smoother, jack, and jointer. What’s best is that you will get to shape them to uniquely fit you. Materials are included, as is lunch each day at one of our amazing local restaurants. I have a blast teaching it, and, so far, the students have all seemed to love it as well.

Online Make A Smoothing Plane Class Is Back!

It has been a long while since I’ve done an online class, but after some recent requests, I figured it’s time to bring it back. In this class, I demonstrate making a smoothing plane using video conferencing during 4 sessions over 4 weeks. I record the session and send you the link so that you can rewatch as you follow the steps yourself that week. It’s a great way to take a class, without all the hassles and costs of travel to deal with.

This class will take place in June and is open to 6 students. I’m also offering something new this time around where I will supply the materials if you don’t want to source them yourself. The sessions each last an hour or two. All of the steps are demonstrated live, on camera, and you can ask questions and input as we go. You will always have access to the video after the class also for future plane making endeavors. Click here to sign up for the June Make A Smoothing Plane Online Class.

Session 1: June 4 @ 9pm
Session 2: June 11 @ 9pm
Session 3: June 18 @ 9pm
Session 4: June 25 @ 9pm

Cost: $155 or $260 with materials

Jointer Plane Kits Are Available, Finally!

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably have already seen this announcement awhile ago, but I finally got the Jointer Plane Kits problems worked out and they are now available for purchase! It took way too long, but I’m excited to finally be able to offer another option for people to make their own tools.
The kits are CNC cut europly. They are put together using four positioning dowels. The CNC shaping of the parts makes the rough shaping fairly straight forward. Where and how you take it from there is up to your comfort and style. The kit comes with all the materials you need, including a blade, and access to an instruction/demonstration video where I walk you through the steps to make your plane.  Pick one up for yourself today here.
